Is It True That Oats Lower Cholesterol?

Yes! Oats are one of Mother Nature’s ways to reduce cholesterol*. That said, to experience the benefits you ‘ll also need to ensure that the rest of your diet is low in saturated fat and that you enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Oats contain soluble fibre, which can reduce your low-density lipoprotein (LDL), the ‘bad’ cholesterol. Soluble fibre appears to do this by reducing the absorption of cholesterol in your intestines.

*As part of a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle, oat beta glucans have been shown to help lower blood cholesterol. Blood cholesterol lowering may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.

What Are Wholegrain Cereals?

Wholegrain foods are made from the entire grain rather than just one part of it. Our milling techniques ensure that the entire grain is optimally milled to produce the very best wholegrain oats. Research shows that people with healthy hearts tend to eat more wholegrain foods, so our oats can provide the perfect choice for a healthy lifestyle.

Do Oats Contain Gluten?

Unfortunately, there is no short answer to this question! As such, we’ve put information on the gluten content of our products with in the ‘allergy advice’ section of each product page. For more information about gluten click here.

We are full members of the On Pack Recycling Label (OPRL) scheme to ensure that clear and accurate packaging recycling information is provided to our customers/consumers. Recycling information for all of our products is outlined on the packs themselves.
